The PC lobby is very strong today. It is powerful by imposing self censorship. People are terrified of saying the wrong thing and losing their job.

I found a new example of PC today. In my clip art collection. I was making up an image to illustrate the problem of birth rates and death rates. I found a picture of a crying baby, a set of scales and a tombstone. No problem. But what about more than one baby, what about a non-white baby? Not a chance. I would have had no problem in finding a black doctor, a black homemaker, a black businesswoman or businessman, a cute black girl or a cool black youth (not a mugger or gang member) or a happy black couple. But the several images of babies or pregnancy were scrupulously white only. It seems the makers of the clip art did not want to make it possible to use their work to suggest that blacks breed too much, or at all.

I have also seen the same effect among scientists. I sent posts to sci.biology.evolution suggesting that if Homo sapiens were a species of bear or snail there would be no problem in calling the different races sub species. It was meant to be a bit ironic. Obviously scientists, especially Americans, have no sense of irony at all. They came tanking in to squash my suggestion and made out that I must know nothing of the subject to suggest such a thing. I do not think that when biologists place snails into different sub species that they go through so many hoops to show how much genetic variability there is within and between the groups. I suggest they see two groups of the same species in different areas which are clearly identifiable and they call them sub species. No big deal. Naturally human genetic differences are more problematic. There is widespread interbreeding between groups which blurs any boundaries, blurs but does not obliterate. Any respectable scientist can tell the difference between a Chinese and an Australian, or an Ethiopian and a Swede. To admit the differences is not to suggest that they have major significance and justify any political action. But scientists cannot afford to take that chance. All human differences should be downplayed at every opportunity to ensure a scientific career.

I have heard that some anthropologists have suggested that at one time there could have been as many as 13 species of Homo in Europe alone. The idea that all these separate species were separate and unarguable species but that that humanity at the present moment is one single species, even one subspecies... well it beggars belief. But still the scientists will stand up and shout that there is not one trace of politically correct thinking behind their observations and if you care to check you will find that to be the case. The argument of personally incredulity is not a strong one in logic, I know, but all I can say is that I am very sceptical of both the 13 separate species and the single indivisible subspecies.

Scientists under the Nazis made a big fuss about any differences between people. A couple of generations later all their work is harder to find than the erotica collections of the great museums.

Racism stinks, it is an abomination, but to distort truth and science is also a crime. A crime against truth, and the future.
