Is Sex With Animals Always Wrong: Comment

Dear Martin,

I wanted to write to you to let you know how much I appreciate your being open-minded on the subject of sex with an animal. I realize that you are not attracted to them, like that, but realize the insanity of the laws out there. (There are more states adopting such laws too) Look what happened to the state of Washington, after the man died from having sex with a stallion. It was his choice, and the stallion certainly did enjoy himself. It was a very tragic thing of course, but it still was between the man and the horse. Is passing a law now to make it a felony going to change things?

I am one of a group of people (much larger than most people think) all over the world, who are attracted to animals both physically and emotionally. I am a zoosexual. I was born this way, and have had this attraction as far back as I can remember. These last 10 years with the internet, has brought others like me together, that is to know that we are not alone. This has also opened the door for a lot of negative, very bad laws that punish us for just being who and what we are. You are correct on what is perceived as animal cruelty just because sex takes place between a human and animal. Actually the selective breeding process that is done, (and accepted) is in my opinion, is closer than rape than anything. In some cases, the animals do enjoy the event, but in most cases the female is tied, and shackled, while the male completes the breeding. I have been active with horses, as long as I can remember. I was deeply in-love with a mare for 10 years before her death 6 years ago. I still love her, and feel like I lost a wife. I am attracted to both males and females. I have never abused an animal in my life. The act of being intimate with them, is done with respect and tenderness with the feelings of love for my partner. This is the very same thing that is involved with human to human intimacy. My mate is not tied or held down, and participates freely with consent (by her actions not words). I can't help my feelings, and when I get around horses, dogs, and cows,I am very much aroused, and that makes them aroused as well. It is not uncommon for these animals to start to give me all the signals, and in some cases initiate the encounter. They are very sensitive to feelings, and Pheromones as well, so without any stimulation, they can get quite proactive. I can show affection to a mare, some kisses and closeness, and she can respond with the desire to be intimate on the spot. Quite often it can become embarrassing. But that of course shows that they have no shame or do not think anything is wrong. What we do in our private life in our bedrooms and barns is our business. What I am trying to explain here is that the general person out there, regards us as animal abusers, and we are quite the opposite. We come from all walks of life, we are all normal people with a different sexual orientation that's all!. It hurts me deeply to be an honest, law abiding, respectful, caring person, and be thought of as a criminal just for being a little different.

I agree with you by saying what we do in the privacy of our barn, behind closed doors, is between the animal and ourselves. If no harm is done, and both are happy, then they should leave us alone. I have to ask......why is ok to kill an animal, and sell its parts to the public for food, but if we make that animal feel good sexually, then we are put in jail for animal abuse.

They talk about consent.... where is the consent from the animal to say.. yeah..." it is ok to brutally slaughter me after a few months of my life." It is clearly a double standard. I hope this changes in my lifetime.

Thank you for bring some sensible light to this subject. These past 8 years or so, several studies have been done concerning this subject. I have been part of the Andrea Beetz study a few years back. With so much new research, and better understanding, and positive published findings.... we still are thought of as sick perverts, and criminals. It hurts.....

My name is Dr. Matthews, and I am a mental health specialist, and psychologist in glenwood, illinois. I couldn't help but respond to your zoosexual person that posted. Number one: zoophilia, bestiality (bestality), or animal sex, is a psychological problem. Your zoosexual friend "claimed" to be born that. Please don't no get feelings mixed with lust and love. Sexuality: this includes homosexuals, bisexuals, straight, and zoosexuals; sexuality is learned, it is one of our many developmental stages. Gays/lesbians "think" that homosexuality is something your born with, and its not. When you grow up, you are enfluenced by things, people, and the world around you, this includes people, animals, and so forth. Because mental, and emotional changes can abruptly happen at an early age, people feel like they are born gay, or zoosexual. Sorry zoosexual or who ever you are, your just lusting after an animal. I have dealt with men who have gone years without a woman, and suddenly have sex with his canary. Its sick. Or a farmers wife who has sex with a pig, because her husband is impotent. Peoples minds are fragile, and easily influenced. I have done case studies on animals sex, and during every video analysis, every human being goes right towards the animals genitals, they could care often less about the animal just getting off. This epidemic of animals sex, is a fad, and the more it gets mainstream, the more people that are going to do it. The reason why it is so attracting is that its new, a new feeling sort of taboo. I do believe true love exists, but your out of social and societal norms. Thus ending.....people who engage in these acts have issues, personal, mental, emotional, and many more issues. They need help

Does pretending to be a doctor give you a feeling of satisfaction?

If the author of the words above has had any education past the age of 16 I would be surprised and alarmed for the future state of our species.

Jesus, sweety I was not trying to argue with you. If your concerned with the future state of our species, than I would agree with you there. Though humans and animals cannot successfully produce offspring because of the differences in the number of chromosomes are different, plus the egg and sperm cannot join because the genetic material of the two are extremly different. The closet animal that humans could possibly mate and have offspring with is a monkey, chimp or animals in the ape family, because our chromosomes and dna are similar to eachothers. I do agree with you about weird babies being born from like a human and a cat. I think that if humans and animals evolve furthur on that the idea of mermaids could be possible. The closer the number of chromosomes there are, the better the chance that an egg might survive, and produce a odd horrid looking baby. I asked my co-worker about a females survival in the chance of species intermixing, and he said most likely a human female would not survive, and the offspring might not survive either. Some of the successful inter breeding species that I do know of from my trip to kenya is tigers, lions, horses, and donkeys. Other than that, I do not know of any others. I think you are an intelligent man, and one of the few people to address animal sex; impressive, and brave. I know many mental health professionals that don't want to address the issuse, but then again nearly 30% of people depending on your regional, national, and international location engage in sex with animals/or have had urges to do so so they might be of that bunch. I truly belive that sex with animals is more common in rural areas, or places like farms where access to an animal is possible, its not so common in urban areas.

I had a friend in college during my junior year at wayne state college in wayne, nebraska. There were farms everywhere in nebraska. She took me to her house, where her family bread horses, and cows. She told me stories about how she would have sex with the horses when her parents left. She actually took me to see some horses out back. And yes I can admit that seeing a penis that size is out of the usual, and somewhat alluring...but it is not for me. From the black stallion, to the ponies. Though she was serious, and hot for the animals....its just not my thing. As a lot of people don't know, that sexual contact with animals can pose a risk for the human. Animals can carry bacteria and viruses : brucellosis, toxocariasis, q fever, allergic reactions, and leptospirosis, and anaphylaxis. Many people who engage in thiese actions think that only humans have sti's and std's.

Im not knocking anyone's attraction to animals, buts its on the account of the personal, and the well being of the animal. You know (being so hansomly smart- yes I've seen your picture... your a cutie) like I know many animals are being abused, not physically but sexually too. I do believe that true love exist, but to me an animal can not tell a person no...or stop....its an animal. Humans are one of the most progessive, and mentally advanced species. I do believe that humans can have feelings for animals, but on different levels. People do have to understand that our world, and society is built on rules, and to see or hear a person do things like this, is out of social norms. But as long as the animals is not hurt, or abused, or somewhat instinctfully consents with animals behavior, than the rest is on the human.

What do I do to encourage these people?

Well, apart from that?
