Nuke that Phone
Information wants to be Free

There are times when you simply need to erase the data on a CD RW disc. But what if your drive doesn't recognize the record format?
Why waste money on expensive software solutions?

The Secure Micro Erasure© technique:

I place the CD-RW in the microwave oven and then I proceed to zap it for ten seconds (or until it's obviously dead) with 850 watts at 2450 MHz.

Frames from a video of the Secure Micro Erasure© of a CD RW
(Experiment duplicated with CD ROM, CD RW was better, MUCH bigger flash, it lit up the whole room.)

And THIS is the result.

100% SECURE DATA ERASURE.

Doesn't your data deserve the highest level of security? Move on up to 2.45 GHz. You know it makes sense.

Smokin'

Erasing Data from a Floppy Disk the Secure Micro Erasure © way (WMV 1MB)

(What a feelin'!)

I set fire to a floppy disk filling the kitchen with smoke and soot and my smoke detector ignores it completely, but try to have bacon anything like crisp and golden and it's another matter entirely...

Caution
Secure Micro Erasure© can damage your microwave oven, never operate a microwave oven for more than a few seconds without food or liquids inside. Needless to say Secure Micro Erasure© will invalidate any guarantee or warranty on your microwave oven.
And your discs.
And probably also your household contents and home fire insurance policies too.
