I don't think black people are offended when you call them black bastards because you're calling them black. They know they're black. It's the unspoken assumption that somehow there's something wrong with being black and that wrongness is the most important part of that person. As we know Sir Trevor isn't a racist we can take his joke as a joke. Everybody knew Bernard was a genuine racist so we couldn't accept his material as "just a joke" no matter how many fat man jokes he slipped in as well.

For goodness sake of course he was a racist. That bit about telling jokes about everybody was just a cover, his audience knew that he was a racist, that was his appeal. If he had just told a few "outrageous" jokes about blacks and "Pakis" and then moved on to other shocking targets we could have taken him at his word but he built his entire career on being Britain's funniest working class racist bigot. I challenge anybody to find an unedited 10 minute clip of Manning without any racist jokes.

Thanks for the huge personal sacrifices you made, entirely for our wellbeing, when you chose to be born in America. Americans just don't know how to do satire properly. If you can't tell it is satire then it's bad satire. America is full of this kind of satire which doesn't go far enough so that you're sure what it is. To do it right you have to go to the edge and well beyond, like Borat. On the other hand you've got to remember that the Westboro Baptist Church is American and George W Bush is president, that makes satire a lot harder to do. It's probably safer to avoid it. American religion is beyond a joke.

More half-arsed and half thought out actually. You can't parody American religiosity, it is beyond a joke. How can you come up with anything which is more ridiculous than the shit some of them actually believe? Because you can't do that all you can do is mimic them. I can see you enjoyed doing it but was it really necessary to post it? This kind of parody is like a drag show done by gay men for straight men. Fun for the company but what's in it for the audience? Confused bemusement at best.

That's the uniform of a wizard/bishop/holy bigman: beard, long robes, magic tome, silly hat and stick with optional magic amulet necklace and magic ring. Any self-respecting (people disrespecting) holy magic man needs to look the part. Any magic man that doesn't get his hands bloody with sacrifices wears a slight variation of this uniform. The magic butcher man outfit is bare chest and linen shorts, to cover the inadequacy.

Isn't torturing and burning heretics who only agree with the faith 90% a little bit worse than beheading apostates? I'm sorry but as an atheist I need advice on moral absolutism from the experts. Christianity can be vicious, nasty, tyrannical, totalitarian and absolutist when it decides that it has the power. Fighting tyrannical Islam in the name of tolerant Christianity is absurd, both can be meek and tolerant when they don't have the power to be tyrannical.

I'm up to Isaiah so far and hell is just the low parts of the earth and the grave. There have been no hints of life or experience beyond death, which is why all God's blessed lived so long. But as I read I come across new ideas about the unchanging god and his rivals so I am looking forward to the bit where eternal life is invented. Don't spoil the ending for me.
