mwillett.org is a growing site, there is room for more new material and more new authors. To avoid disappointment it is best to discuss the nature of your contribution before sending it. I cannot give an open-ended commitment to publish anything. The subject matter of the site is eclectic and it varies a lot but it isn't infinitely flexible, I don't want poems or arty photographs or reviews of DVD players, rock criticism or travel journalism. No spam please. I have no problem with publishing work that has been published elsewhere, even work that has been sold elsewhere, as long as it is submited by the copyright holder. Pages should be a minimum of 450 words unless they feature images or some other sort of space filler. There isn't an upper limit, if a page needs sub-dividing I will sub-divide it. The best format for a simple text based page is just plain text email.
You can mark parts for italics /like this/ and bold *like this*. Use
a double 'carriage return' for a new paragraph. Put headings and subheadings
in their own paragraphs. I will copy and paste into a page of Dreamweaver
using paste as text and then add any formating and special characters subscript, Style guideUse consistent spelling. Spelling can be American English, UK English, International English or your local English as long as it is consistent across the piece. Spelling, punctuation and grammar should be treated with respect. Affectations such as all lower case or twee spellings will be regarded as the equivalent of examination essays written in green crayon. If you use Microsoft Word's grammar checking facility set it to casual, but take notice of most of the suggestions. If your spellchecker does not recognize a word (such as proper nouns or scientific terms) use Google as a guide to the correct spelling. |
