Martin J.:

You are soooo wrong and soooo lost!

In your sixth paragraph you state “Evolutionary theory explains the biggest mystery....” Evolution ( an unproveable theory) explains nothing! When ever it's 'crunch time', y'all have to fall back on the “Well, of course, it took millions and billions of years to happen...” line to cover the lack of supporting evidence.

If there is not an intelligent designer, where did the matter for the big bang come from? Where has one species ever crossed over to another? Have you observed the geology of Mount Saint Helen's as it relates to a world wide flood?

It takes much more faith to believe the evolution fairy tale as it does that a creator God breathed into existence everything around us about 6000 years ago. He also created you! And He doesn't need your belief or assent, but He will certainly not cast you out if you seek Him sincerely.

Scott

Why did you bother writing that? Do you really think I believe any of the stuff you do?

I don't believe in good and evil. I don't believe the universe needs an explanation. I don't believe that something needs to be understood or designed before it can exist. I don't believe there is a god. I don't believe that any person is capable of perceiving truth directly and knowing it to be true, so I cannot believe anybody who claims to know the word of God or the mind of God, therefore I cannot believe any book written by men can contain ultimate truth. I don't believe any of your basic premises.

Don't you get it? Any of your biblical nonsense is simply mildly annoying to me. I don't choose not to believe it, I just don't believe it. There is no ulterior motive, I am not trying to impress anybody, I am not trying to hurt anybody, I am not under the influence of any dark forces. I just, simply, don't believe in God. So there is nothing supernatural that you can threaten me with.

If there is not an intelligent designer, where did the matter for the big bang come from? I don't know. I don't know that the question makes sense, I have no experience of there not being a universe, I don't know what goes on in those situations. I don't see it as any more sensible a question than who created God?

Where has one species ever crossed over to another? My understanding is that new species are being formed all the time. Species form in very small populations, large numbers have too much inertia to allow significant change. To expect a large and successful species to change into a different large species simply shows total ignorance of the process. Ignorance of evolution is widespread amongst people who believe it, amongst those that say it could not happen such ignorance is almost universal, and in many cases quite deliberate and calculating.

200,000 years ago a lake formed in Africa, a few fish found their way into it, perhaps as eggs on the feet of birds. One type of fish. The series of lakes now contain hundreds of species of fish, all closely related genetically, but having vastly different habits, as different as any fish in any lake. Bottom feeders, top feeders, vegetarian, hunters, egg stealers. Huge variety of shapes, colours and sizes, a huge variety of behaviours. All descended from a single species in a geological eyeblink.

Have you observed the geology of Mount Saint Helen's as it relates to a world wide flood? No. Have you read the Girl Guide Handbook of 1935? Probably not, for similar reasons, better things to do and no desire to fill my head with useless information of dubious value. A world wide flood? How could that happen? Where could the water come from or go to? How could all that extra mass fail to change the gravitational pull or change the orbit of the planet? Stop pretending to be scientists, it is obscene.

It takes much more faith to believe the evolution fairy tale as it does that a creator God breathed into existence everything around us about 6000 years ago. Nonsense. Faith has nothing to do with it. I don't have faith, just shifting beliefs based on the scanty experiences I have, amplified and aided by the collective experiences of the largest collection of intelligent human minds in history; the modern scientific community.

I regularly change my mind. I find it healthy to question things, including the virtue of questioning things. I don't take it on faith that faith is good. I have not swallowed all the myths and superstitions that have been fed me. My culture tells me that knowledge is worthwhile, understanding how things work is good. So is seeing why people do the things they do and believe the things they believe. I am not in the least scared of your God, your Bible, its predictions or prophesies. I just find the whole thing mildly amusing, mildly irritating. Now run along and frighten some children, it is all your lot are good for.
